Friends of Teen Arts, Inc. (FOTA) was established in 1969 and incorporated in 1985 as a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization. We
have a unique and unparalleled 34-year history in New Jersey. With a current paid staff of 1 - an Executive Director - and a volunteer board of 16 trustees, we coordinate and support the efforts of
teen arts organizations in all 21 New Jersey counties, and organize and run statewide programs including the New Jersey State Teen Arts Festival, Young Composers program, Young Video Makers program, and a touring art exhibit
inclusive of teenage artists from every county. We also produce an annual calendar and Earthrise, a creative writing anthology, which feature the works of New Jersey teenagers. As grant funds allow, we partner artists with
schools for residencies, publish a directory of professional, teaching artists, and offer training programs and workshops for artists and high school educators.
